Representation of Juveniles and Persons with Mental Disabilities

We represent juveniles in delinquency, disciplinary, and educational and service entitlement proceedings. In a landmark case, we have expanded the rights of juvenile defendants in murder cases to require the prosecution to provide legal instructions to grand juries so that the jurors understand their ability to consider indicting the juvenile on lesser charges.

We represent persons with mental health disabilities of various sorts in criminal defense, mental health, and service entitlement proceedings. These cases often require familiarity with a particularized area of both medicine and law, together with a sensitivity to the special needs of the client.
